Juliet by Anne Fortier is a novel that I probably would have picked up then put back on the shelf. It’s the cover below with a red rose and I added a fancy black frame. My friend S. suggested the novel for our book club. Once, I started reading it on a plane ride, I couldn’t wait to get to my hotel room. I wanted to snuggle into bed and finish the book as quickly as possible. The book follows a present day Juliet to Siena, Italy where she looks for clues to her mother. A woman who died at two, and she doesn’t remember. Juliet’s mother was convinced they were descendants of the original Romeo and Juliet. Juliet finds love, betrayal, and an unlikely savior. There are so many amazing turns and a few predictable twist that end up not so predictable. Pick up this quick read and you will be longing for Siena as much as S. and I are!
